There’s a moment early in every firm’s journey when you realize that the people you bring in will ultimately define the long-term trajectory of the fund. This is one of those moments.
We’re incredibly proud to announce that Gabriella has been promoted to Partner at Fika Ventures.
We were first introduced to Gabriella in February 2021, under the bold claim that Arteen had “finally met someone better than me with numbers.” Whether it was curiosity, disbelief, or simply the open role we had at the time, I agreed to meet her. I’ll admit it now — today, she’s better than me at far more than just the numbers.
Despite insisting on a phone call for her first interview — and refusing to turn her camera on, a decision we will absolutely never let her forget — she convinced us to take her through the entire interview process. Not long after, she joined what was then a very small, five-person Fika family.
There’s a saying that the days are long, but the years are short — and that couldn’t be more true of our time with Gabriella. Over the last five years, we’ve watched her grow from Senior Associate into the leader and Partner she is today, all while making it look deceptively easy.
Her journey reinforces something we deeply believe in at Fika: our apprenticeship model, where every Partner is developed and promoted from within. It’s a model we intend to continue, because it allows founders to have a consistent, long-term experience with the people they work alongside from day one.
And now, turning the spotlight back where it belongs — since Gabriella comes from a family of die-hard sports fans (her four-month-old already watches Sunday Night Football), it felt only right to give her an official highlight reel:
#5: Relentless dedication to our portfolio companies — from the earliest shoots to the clear winners — earning outsized pro-rata, real outcomes, and genuine founder love.
#4: Going head-to-head with industry heavyweights on competitive deals and winning through rigorous diligence, sharp instincts, and deeply trusted founder relationships.
#3: Playing a foundational role in building the Fika team — recruiting, mentoring, and setting the bar for excellence, curiosity, and integrity. She single-handedly recruited every Associate on our team.
#2: The moment we knew Gabriella had truly arrived — when conference organizers politely ignored my speaking applications and asked for Gabriella instead.
#1: Always showing up for people. Whether it’s supporting teammates through major life moments, stepping up during hard times, or leading initiatives that have positively impacted thousands beyond the firm — Gabriella shows up. Every time.
We all know Gabriella is exceptional at her job. What makes this promotion especially meaningful, though, is that she’s also an extraordinary human being — someone who deeply cares about the people around her and the brand and culture that Fika stands for. That’s the kind of leader we believe in, and the kind of firm we’re intentionally building.
So with immense pride and gratitude, we’re thrilled to announce Gabriella as Partner at Fika Ventures — our fifth Partner and someone who will help lead the firm into its next chapter.
