Uncovered Bookmarks #25: Improving founder experience – The VC Daily

When we started using Claude skills to automate parts of our investment process, the instinct was to codify how the best investors on our team work today – create SOPs for each stage of diligence.

But once we got going, we realised: why constrain yourself to what the best person does now? Why not reimagine what you’d do with infinite time, attention, and expert knowledge?

Two years ago, I would read a startup’s deck before a first meeting. Now I read a six-page report on the product, team, and industry alongside that deck. I ask better questions in the meeting and move faster through diligence.

Founders have a meaningfully better experience, and hopefully we make better decisions.

He shot through windows, rain, reflections – a master at using his environment to frame the scene and subject. His colour is never loud, just one small thing pulling your eye through the frame. And he started as a painter, which I think you can feel in every image. Most of his personal work was overlooked for decades until his book Early Color came out in 2006. What blows my mind is that almost all of it was shot within a few blocks of his apartment. You don’t need a special location. You just need to start looking differently.
