We have backed leading startups at Series A and Series B stages globally, including Freshly, Dollar Shave Club, Petfolk, Vention, Clark and Butternut Box. In the US over the last few years, we have continued our focus in New York, doubling down on opportunities across fintech, vertical SaaS, and digital health.
We are now actively looking to grow our investment team in New York with the addition of an Associate to support us in sourcing, due diligence, thought leadership, and various fund operations.
Our international perspective is key to what we do, and so we are focused on finding an individual who is a self-starter and eager to work with a truly global team in a highly stimulating environment.
Responsibilities
- Independently develop thematic focus and source investment opportunities
- Assess investment opportunities through both qualitative and quantitative diligence (e.g. market research, financial analysis, valuation, and return modeling)
- Actively support in structuring and closing investment transactions
- Lead various initiatives related to the operations of the fund
- Provide hands-on support to portfolio company founders post-investment
- Develop strong relationships with founders, investors, and other ecosystem partners, with a focus on New York
- Represent the firm in meetings with startup founders and at industry events
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in venture capital, growth equity, management consulting, and/or growth, business development, or corporate development at technology companies
- Demonstrated passion for startups, venture capital, and technology
- Thrives in high-energy environments, excelling in professional networking
- Highly organized, motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a larger global team
- Proficient in Excel and financial modeling, with an understanding of how to read financial statements and forecasts
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability and/or right to work in the US
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing network of startup founders and investors in New York
- Experience organizing professional events, dinners, workshops, or hackathons to build communities and foster business opportunities
- Online thought-leadership and content presence related to startups and technology through newsletters, blogs, podcasts, and social media
- Unsuccessful attempt at launching or scaling your own business
